All films made by men. Once again women directors are completely shunned by the world of film. For all it’s diversity, this list ignores the work of every woman who ever directed a movie, showing once again that cinema is perhaps the most sexist of all domains in our world.

Recensirete mai la trilogia sull’inquietudine, l’ansia, la preoccupazione di Grandrieux?
PS ho recuperato White Epilepsy e ne sono rimasto affascinato, quasi estasiato.
E da quello che ho sentito i due film successivi, che spero di recuperare prima o poi, sono anche meglio.

Well, 5 films by Philippe Grandrieux, 3 by Tsai Ming Liang and Lav Díaz, 2 by Rouzbeh Rashidi, by Bela Tarr, by Wang Bing, Antoine D’Agata, by Aleksandr Sokurov and by Sector 16 … until then, considering that There are 50 films from one of the most prolific eras of the cinema, its list shows little variety. That is, nothing from Jia Zhangke, Hou Hsiao Hsien, Nuri Bilge Ceylan, Leos Carax, Hong Sang-soo, Peter Greenaway, Abbas Kiarostami, Jafer Panahi, Isaki Lacuesta, Albert Serra, José Luis Guerin, or the consecrated Manoel de Oliveira, Alain Resnais, Raoul Ruiz … Come on, guys!
But the most worrying thing is that in his entire selection there is only one woman and as co-director! To hell with Lucrecia Martel, Chantal Ackerman, Naomi Kawase, Agnes Varda, Kelly Reichardt, or maybe Lynne Ramsay! will this be why they did select 2 films of the misogynist and fascist of Lars Von Trier?
